Design and implementation of software system for the novel cellular microphysiometer

The traditional microphysiometer system detects functional responses from living cells,but the experimental results are not comprehensive. A software system for our novel cellular microphysiometer was developed,The system which combined an integrated chip and the novel cellular microphysiometer was utilized to detect the extracellular ion concentrations and electrophysiological impedence. A simpler and more efficient operating point identification algorithm on I ∼ V curves was proposed for the light-addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS). Two methods, more specifically calculation methods of the extracellular acidification rate and half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50),were adopted to analyze the cell metabolic rate and cellular morphological changes. In addition,the functions of software system include real-time data gathering,data-recording,data-saving and syringe pump controlling. After using the system for acidification rate test experiment in renal cells and Chinese medicine test in activated hepatic stellate cells,the analysis and discussion of the results verified the effectiveness of the software algorithms.
