Decoupling to improve XRAM inductive pulse power sources with series charging and parallel discharging characteristics

Higher energy densities make inductive storage more promising than capacitive storage for pulsed power supplies.The XRAM topology was developed with charging in series and discharging in parallel for inductive pulsed power supplies with lower cost and better scalability.However,the original XRAM has several drawbacks such as the coupling and long time,high magnitude,high frequency oscillations of the current for the inductances and thysistors in the original XRAM.Separated dioxides are introduced here to decouple the original XRAM.Simulations using four electrical characteristic indices show that the decoupled XRAM eliminates the drawbacks of the original design,while keeping all the advantages of the original design and improving some electrical characteristic indices.
