The Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA) has operated water supply facilities along the Russian River in California to deliver potable water since the late 1950s. These facilities, consisting of radial collector and vertical wells, utilize natural filtration processes within the alluvial aquifer surrounding the Russian River to remove impurities from the water and provide a source of high quality drinking water.
