New Trends In Global Navigation Systems: Implementation Of A Gps Antenna Array Receiver

This paper provides details about the implementation of an antenna array receiver devoted to GPS L1 navigation signals. The design is based on the commercial RF front-end chip which performs the frequency down-shifting and the digitization. On account of the use of array digital beam-forming algorithms, the proposed platform is equipped with a calibration subsystem which ensures a phase reference, and a data acquisition subsystem for post processing methods. This architecture allows the test of beam-forming strategies with real-life data.
