Faithfulness to [voice] in Ukrainian: An Analysis of Voicing Alternations within Optimality Theory

This paper builds on the constraint systemproposed by Lombardi (1996), outlined in section 1. Section 2summarizes the facts of Ukrainian voicing alternations and identifies theassumptions which render Lombardi?s analysis incapable of accountingfor Ukrainian language data.
