Clinical observation of the effect of TAX,VP-16 combined with DDP in the treatment of patient with SCLC

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and toxicity of combined chemotherapy with lower dose of TAX,VP-16 plus DDP in the treatment of patient with extensived small cell lung cancer(SCLC).Methods A total of 69 patients with SCLC were enrolled,32 in the trial group were assigned to receive TAX in combination with EP of chemotherapy and 37 in the control group to receive EP chemotherapy alone.TAX was administered 100mg/m2 on dl,VP-16 100mg/m2 on d1-35,DDP 70mg/m2 on d1 which was recycled every 3 or 4 weeks and with at least 4 cycles.Results Among the trial group,4 patients achieved complete response,11 patients achieved partial response,8 patients achieved stable disease and 9 patients achieved progressive disease.The overall response rate of the trial group is 71.88%(23/32).The 1-year and 2-year survival rates of the trial group were 37.5% and 15.62%.The main toxicities were neurotoxicity,myelosuppression,nausea/vomiting and alopecia.Conclusion Lower dose of TAX combine VP-16 plus DDP in treatment of SCLC has a good short-term effects,slight adverse reaction and a good tolerance,it is worthy of further study.
