QCD radiative corrections to γ*γ*→ hadrons

We compute the order-S corrections to the total cross section and to jet rates for the process e + e ! e + e + hadrons, where the hadrons are pro- ducedthroughcrossed-channel quarkexchangeinthehardscatteringoftwoo-shell photons originating from the incoming leptons. We use a next-to-leading order gen- eral-purpose partonicMonte Carlo event generator that allows thecomputation ofa rate dierential in the produced leptons and hadrons. We compare our results with the available experimental data for e + e ! e + e + hadrons at LEP2.
