Early Bacille de Calmette-Guérin Vaccination and Crohn’s Disease: Possible Relationship?

Crohn’s disease (CD) is extraordinarily unusual in children in all Latin American countries. This clinical observation leads us to ask which factors in the developing world may contribute to this very low incidence of CD. Alternatively, the developed countries may be unwittingly doing something or avoiding something that is increasing rates of the disease.
