Imaging features of malignant tumors of intra-abdominal testes

Objective To study the imaging features of malignant tumors of intra-abdominal testes.Methods The clinical presentation,computer tomography(CT),ultrasonography(US)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)features of 6 patients with malignant tumor of intra-abdominal testes proved by surgery and pathology were analyzed retrospectively.Results CT performed in 6 patients showed well-circumscribed soft-tissue masses with inhomogeneous enhancement in all cases.US in 4 patients showed well-circumscribed masses with inhomogeneous hypo-echogenicity.MRI in 1 patient showed soft-tissue mass with inhomogeneous intensity and enhancement.Retroperitoneal lymph nodes were detected in 3 patients.The pathological diagnosis of all patients was seminoma.Conclusion The malignant tumor of intra-abdominal testes has some imaging characteristics,the radiologist should raise to know it and play an important role in the diagnosis.
