摘要
Optimal treatment of chronic pain, especially neuropathic pain, is a multimodal process. No single, narrowly based intervention is likely to bring about lasting change in long-established pain problems and provide patients with a quality of life. The therapeutic goals in the treatment of chronic pain are the reduction of suffering and return to good function. Non-pharmacological treatments such as acupuncture and hypnosis (cognitive-behavioural therapies) are interesting additions. Hypnotic methods require active psychological engagement with the patient's involvement. Hypnotic treatments are evolving with a greater emphasis on active participation by the patient, primarily through greater utilization of self-hypnosis.
