A New Decision-Making Intelligent System For The Recognition Of Bilingual Handwritten Postal Addresses

Many firms employ workers whose only task is to inspect the quality of finished products and to make their sorting (e.g. sorting of ceramic products according to their quality, sorting of agricultural products according to their color or size, sorting of letters according to their postal code, sorting of invoices or bank cheques, etc.). In order to make these repetitive and often laborious tasks profitable, firms rely on new "intelligent" technologies in order to ensure a simple and fast evaluation of their products by way of easily controllable and integrated automatic processes. Towards that end, we developed a decision-making system for the automation of the postal sorting in Tunisia. Such system would also be usable in other Arab countries and the oriental countries where the mail often makes simultaneous use of bilingual Arabic and Latin writings.
