This meeting on tumor microcirculation contains 82 meeting papers in total, including 29 oral abstracts and 48 meeting posters, all written in English. Topics discussed were tumor angiogenesis, anti-angiogenic therapy, lymphatic vessel distribution and diseases such as lymphoedema distichiasis, prostate cancer,breast cancer, diabetes and brain tumors. Vascular endothelial cells, the endothelium and clinical studies were used to examine the role of molecules such as nitric oxide, vascular endothelial growth factor, prostaglandins, superoxide, adhesion molecules, glucose, angiopoietin-1 and cells such as macrophages and neutrophils, in the circulatory system. Techniques such as laser Doppler imaging to measure blood flow, silica gel thin layer chromatography and multiphoton fluorescence microscopy were also discussed.
