摘要
We present here an inventory of 88 plant species used to treat tuberculosis and related ailments. Seven of these species, namely Eucalyptus sp., Warburgia salutaris (G. Bertol.) Chiov., Ocimum suave Willd., Zanthoxylum chalybeum Engl., Momordica foetida Schum., Persea americana Mill. and Acacia hockii De Wild. were mentioned by most traditional medicine practitioners and are, therefore, probably effective for the treatment of these ailments and could be safe to use for humans. These seven species need to be scientifically studied to determine their effectiveness and safety so as to promote public health among communities that use them.
