alpha-beta-Unsaturated ketones reacted with tetra-n-butylammonium peroxydisulfate in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and base in acetonitrile at 25 degrees c to give the corresponding epoxides in excellent yields. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
