The Use of Petri Nets for Modeling Workflow in the DOMINO System

The DOMINO system is a prototype workflow system intended for the support of structured business processes in organizations. We give a brief description of the system and then show how Petri nets have been used for the modeling of the workflow procedures and of the communication protocols ("conversations") which are used for the execution of such procedures in the D OMINO system.
