Activité adénosine désaminase dans le liquide pleural : recommandations pour une conservation optimale des échantillons

The aim of this study was to determine the optimal storage conditions of pleural fluid samples for determination of adenosine deaminase activity. We have evaluated the influence of storage time (up to 15days), temperature (+4°C, +22°C, +37°C) and presence of a stabilizing solution (glycerol-sulfate solution) on the stability of adenosine deaminase. We recommend transporting pleural fluid samples at +4°C without stabilizing solution. Any failure to comply with these recommendations may induce an underestimation of ADA level leading to misdiagnosis.
