A Case for Goal-oriented Programming Semantics

Abstract: Contemporary pervasive computing environments demand mechanism for coherentlyaddressing high-level user needs despite changing availability of resources. Wepropose the formalization of goals as the semantic basis for this mechanism, and sketch asystem architecture that separates policy-rich goals-level planning code from a policy-neutralcomponent assembly model.
