ON APPLICATION OF GENETIC ALGORITHMS TO REPLICA LOCATION PROBLEM

World Wide Web is now a popular tool of interaction among people, institutions and corporations from all over the world. In order to overcome problems of WWW congestion techniques of caching and replication have been developed. In this work we address problems of designing a replica system in MPLS environment. MPLS is a new, evolving connection-oriented technique for IP networks. We formulate an optimization problem of replica location and propose genetic algorithms to solve this problem.
