Short Communication Induction of host defence responses by Drosophila C virus

Host-pathogen interactions are driven by constant com- petition between the host defence responses and the pathogen's ability to control the host to enable completion of its replication cycle. Knowledge concerning both of these components is required to understand the complex interactions involved. Drosophila C virus (DCV) is a well- studied and relatively simple virus which is a natural pathogen of the widely used model organism Drosophila melanogaster, making it an ideal model system for studying
