Kinematic fitting of neutral current events at HERA

摘要
The measurement of the scaling variables in deep inelastic scattering at HERA can be improved considerably by constraining the scattered electrons and the produced hadrons to energy-momentum conservation. It is shown how unobserved particles moving down the beam pipe and initial state radiation can be included in the kinematics. The particle momenta are adjusted in a linear least squares fit.
