摘要
Left ventricular hypertrophy is a common manifestation of sustained systemic hypertension and a well-established independent risk factor for adverse cardiovascular events and death. In this paper, we review the analytic methods of measuring left ventricular mass, the recent studies that have defined the scope and strength of the association between increased ventricular mass and prognosis, and some of the clinical trials that have assessed the response of ventricular mass to treatment in patients with hypertension.
