Experiment Study on Anti-inflammatory Effect of Total Saponins from Thladiantha dubia Root

Objective:To investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of total saponins of the root from Thladiantha dubia Bunge(TSRT).Method: The experiment of xylene-induced ear swelling in mice,carrageenin-induced paw edema in rats,histamine-induced pigment oozing from skin vessel in rats and cotton pellet granuloma in mice were used to investigate the effect of TSRT on acute and chronic inflammation.Result: In mice ear swelling test,the ear swelling degree in all TSRT dose groups was lower than that in model group(P0.01).In the test of carrageenin-induced paw edema in rats,at 1-4 h after carrageenin-induced inflammatory,paw edema degree in TSRT 200 mg·kg-1 and 100 mg·kg-1 groups were significantly lower than that in mode group(P0.01),at 2-4 h after carrageenin-induced inflammatory,paw edema degree in TSRT 50 mg·kg-1 group was lower than that in model group(P0.05).In the test of histamine-induced pigment oozing from skin vessel in rats,in all TSRT dose groups,the pigment infiltration area and pigment content were lower than that in model group(P0.05-P0.01).In the test of mice cotton pellet granuloma,weight of cotton pellet granuloma was lower than that in model group(P0.05-P0.01).Conclusion: TSRT has significent anti-inflammatory on acute and chronic inflammatory.
