Surface Modification of Ultrafine Calcium Carbonate Particles Prepared

Calcium carbide particles were prepared by carbonization with intermittent bubbling CO2 from Calcium Carbide Residue. To modify the surface properties of the product,a surfactant of JN117 was respectively added into the different preparation processes. When JN117 was added into the reaction system in the carbonization process, the resulted product of calcium carbide represent higher activation, lower white content and value of absorbing oil. The results of SEM showed that the synthesized product modified in the carbonization process by JN117 was of better dispersive statue.
