Practical paediatrics in a general district hospital
European Journal of Pediatrics(1995)
摘要
Conclusion In our country, the density of hospitals is very high and these institutions are generally well equipped. Although the general tendency is toward ambulatory paediatrics, we think that the presence of an independent paediatric unit in the general district hospital maintains its importance. The specific paediatric environment ensures optimal assistance to the hospitalized child and the specialized personnel secures a good care to high risk births. Theoretical and practical basic knowledge is normally acquired through university education. For the paediatrician in charge in the peripheral hospital, continuing medical education with local clinical investigation ensures an optimal health care for the paediatric population. The contact with a university centre ensures up to date continuing education as well as reciprocal input and know-how in clinical research.
