KAREN: Opportunities and Challenges for New Zealand Libraries

The Kiwi Advanced Research and Education Network (KAREN) will transform New Zealand's research and education sector, in which l ibraries play a key part; however many staff in research organisations, including lib rarians, are not aware of KAREN and what it offers. This article introduces KAREN, suggests how research libraries could use KAREN to collaborate and deliver content and services, and explores some new professional roles and responsibilities.
