Effect of Na Qi Ping Chuan Granules on airway water metabolism in asthmatic rats

摘要
Objective To investigate the effect of Na Qi Ping Chuan Granules on mucus hypersecretion and mucosal edema in airway of Asthmatic Rats.Methods Sixty-nine Wistar rats were divided into four groups randomly,they were asthma group,normal control group,Na Qi Ping chuan granules treated group and Dexamethasone treated group.The asthma models were established by sensitization with ovalbumin(OVA) and aluminum hydroxide on the 1 st day,15 th day,and challenged with OVA on the 25 th to 29 th days.Each group′s histopathology chances of airway were observed,lung wet-dry weight proportionality(W/D) was measured,inflammatory cells and goblet cells were counted.Results Compared with normal group,the asthma group except the chronic inflammation,also displays of serious mucous plug,heavy mucosal edema,and goblet cell hyperplasia in the respiratory tract.The inflammation changes were significantly improved in both Naqi and Dexamethasone treatment groups.The lung W/D ratio and goblet cell quantity in drug treatment groups were significantly lower than that in model group(P0.05).Conclusion Na Qi Ping Chuan Granules have a anti-inflammatory activity,and may have potential therapeutic roles in mucus hypersecretion and mucosal edema in asthma.
