Polarization interactions in lattice dynamics of molecular crystals

The contribution to lattice dynamics of molecular crystals of polarization interactions due to dipoles induced by the molecular multipolar field has been evaluated by calculation of the lattice frequencies of crystalline ammonia. It has been found that this contribution is small but not negligible.
