Fausse élévation de la protéine C-réactive chez les patients présentant une immunoglobuline monoclonale IgM

Serum C-Reactive Protein (CRP) levels in 174 patients with monoclonal gammapathies were evaluated by nephelemetry using latex particles and by turbidimetry. In the IgM monoclonal components group (n = 72) we found discrepancies between the two methods in 12,5 % of cases. So, without any inflammation argument, increased CRP values must be verified by another method in these patients.
