The Design and Implementation of Automatic Meter Reading System Based on Plastic Optical Fiber

Using plastic optical fiber for local communication on automatic meter reading can compansate the quartz fiber interface problem and RS485 wiring problem.The article describes the overall structure of automatic meter reading briefly.Then,it presentes using plastic optical fiber to achieve the date transfer between the concentrator modules and the acquisition module in the local communication network of automatic meter reading system.It also describes the functions and working processes of the two modules in details.Finally,the AT command protocol is selected to achieve its software function.
