Abstract - The development ,of high ,JC microstructures in Nb-46.5wt.%Ti under standard processing techniques is reviewed. Microstructures of alloys of higher Ti content given the same processing are shown ,to be ,significantly different. The effect of composition ,on precipitate morphology has recently been found to be quantifiable, predictable and controllable. The implications of these results in terms of low field applications is discussed.
