Localized Pulmonary Emphysema Of Infancy

1. 1. Four cases of localized pulmonary emphysema from the Buffalo Children's Hospital along with a total of 36 cases from the English literature are reviewed. 2. 2. A correct diagnosis of this disease can usually be made from a careful history, physical examination, and roentgenogram of the chest. 3. 3. Resection of the involved lobe leads to immediate improvement and cure in most cases. Temporizing measures are inadequate and may prove to be fatal.
