Synthesis of LeaLex oligosaccharide fragments and efficient one-step deprotection

The synthesis of two oligosaccharide fragments of the tumor associated carbohydrate antigen LeaLex is reported. The fully protected tri- and tetrasaccharide intermediates were submitted to dissolving metal conditions (Na/NH3) to provide in one single step the corresponding deprotected compounds.
