Mapping family stress: The application of family adaptation theory to post-traumatic stress disorder

This article examines the role of interpersonal factors in the maintenance of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and suggests a need for clinicians to conceptualize PTSD within a family systems context. A case study illustrates the use of Family Adaptation Theory as a model for assessment and intervention.
