The Curative Effect of Xiaoxuming Decoction on the Content of Nitric Oxide and the Activity of Nitric Oxide Synthase in the Serum of Patients with Acute Cerebral Infarction

Objective To observe the change of the level of nitric oxide (NO) and the activity of nitric oxide synthase (NOS), and to discuss the mechanism of curing function in the acute cerebral infarction (ACI). Methods Using suture methods to induce rats mode of acute cerebral infarction, giving a certein Xiaoxuming decoction by intragastric administration. And determinting the level of NO and the activity of NOS. Results There were the reduction of the level of NO and the activity of NOS in treatment group. Compared to model group, there were significant difference (P 0.01). Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine of Xiaoxuming decoction can lower the level of NO and the activity of NOS obviously. It can suppresses the ischemic brain damage.
