The geographic information database of the Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) is developed to model the real world in the campus to be in forms of digital data layers using geo-informatics technology. The database includes 18 spatial data layers covering infrastructures and topography of the campus. These consist of 5,430 records of spatial features in forms of points, lines and polygons or areas, one record for one feature. Each spatial record is linked or attached with non-spatial data to identify what it is and specify its attributes. The database is conceptually and logically created to benefit chiefly all levels of the SUT officers and to follow the data dictionary designed to correspond to rules of relational database. This enables it to be dynamically linked, searched, queried, and analyzed interactively with users. The database allows adding fields to serve certain purpose in the future.
