New Metallic Catalysts Supported on Cellulose-Based Activated Carbon Cloths

The development of activated carbon cloths (ACC) leads to the design of new supported metal catalysts showing a number of advantages compared with conventional catalysts deposited on activated carbons. This paper describes the preparation of ACC from cellulose precursor and gives some examples of metal deposition and of applications to catalytic hydrogenation reactions in the fields of fine chemistry and environment.
