摘要
Three topics are considered in this article (a) the sociology and politics of the social and behavioral sciences; (b) psychology as a socially constructed activity involving narrative, rhetoric, and ideology; and (c) the matter of methods. Drawing on various sources of inspiration-from scientists and poets alike-the authors propose that psychologists confidently craft an array of indigenous methods that bridge the sciences and humanities, become self-critically aware of the values embedded in their scholarly and implemental praxis, and create both personal and institutional space for living "at the dangerous edge of things."
