Breeding of a yellow flesh watermelon variety Jinxing for protected production.

Jinxing is a new F1 hybrid watermelon bred by using Lvwangzi 00-1-1-1-3-1-1 as female parent and Xiaolan 01-1-1-1-1 as male parent.The variety sets fruit easily and fruit matures 38 days from flowering.The fruit is oblong with deep green skin and unobvious stripes,and yellow spots may develop occasionally.The average fruit size is 3-4 kg.The flesh is deep yellow with fine texture and little fibers.The center soluble solid content is above 11%.The plant is strong and resistant to diseases.The variety is suitable for production in greenhouse and plastic tunnel in North China such as Shandong and Hebei provinces.
