FUZZY MULTI-SENSOR OBJECT RECOGNITION USING TRIANGULAR FUZZY NUMBER

Triangular fuzzy numbers are used to represent the characteristic values of object types and observations of sensors, a new fusion method for multi-sensor object recognition is proposed from the viewpoint of decision making theory. Applying the ex- pected value formula of triangular fuzzy number, the triangular fuzzy numbers elements of decision matrix are transformed into the real number elements. By solving the op- timization problem of minimizing the maximum deviation between the object types and the unknown object, the weights of the attributes are obtained objectively. The result of recognition for the unknown object is given by the comprehensive attribute expected values. This method can avoid the subjectivity of selecting attributes weights and con- sider sufficiently the risk preference of decision maker. It is straightforward and can be performed on computer easily. Finally, a simulated example is given to demonstrate the feasibility and practicability of the proposed method.
