SUMMARY For the assessment of thermal characteristics of buildings and building components, system identification techniques are the most promising tools. The European network PASLINK has gained considerable experience in testing and analysis. This paper presents the results from a benchmarking exercise on real data from a simple wall component installed in an outdoor test cell. The paper concludes with a discussion on how physicists and mathematicians could improve the final results from the use of dynamic analysis techniques. The paper is presented on behalf of PASLINK EEIG.
