Dissipation of toxic potential of airborne dust in Kuwait

The dust collected from Ahmadi region of Kuwait was found toxic to human erythrocytes in experimental studies reported from this laboratory. The samples collected from the same locality after 4 months were found less toxic suggesting dissipation of toxic factor (s) with time. Six other localities viz., Abbasiya, Hawally , Jahra , Rigga , Salmiya and Sulaibikhat were also included in the present study. The dust from Jahra was found next to Ahmadi in its toxicity whereas from other localities exerted mild effect at lower concentrations.
