Helping the instructor to manage a simulation exercise database
msra
摘要
Today, training simulators provide instructors with sophisticated exercise creation and supervision tools which they will use to develop exercise databases. However, these exercises are reusable with difficulty by others, insofar as the teaching goals do not explicitly appear as part of the data set that makes up the exercise. To design a training course, the instructor has to characterize the exercises, making explicit his teaching goals and linking his criteria to the simulation data. Thanks to STREX (STRucturing Exercise database), the instructors are given the possibility to visualize the exercise database contents according to selection criteria, add new selection criteria to the existing set, and generate teaching modules according to the trainees' needs. STREX is a tool that is independent of any training domain and can be connected to any exercise creation tool; STREX software integration simply requires the importing of the relevant exercise data into the STREX database.
