COMPARAÇÃO DE MÉTODOS PARA CLASSIFICAÇÃO DA ARRITMIA SINUSAL RESPIRATÓRIA DURANTE A VENTILAÇÃO MECÂNICA POR PRESSÃO POSITIVA E A VENTILAÇÃO ESPONTÂNEA EDUCADA

Despite the respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) classification during spontaneous ventilation being well established, there is a lack of agreement about such a classification during mechanical ventilation (MV). In order to gain a better insight on this matter, we analyzed the pattern of RSA using five different objective methods during MV and paced spontaneous breathing. The results evidenced limited agreement between the methods, suggesting the possibility that the lack of a consensus about RSA pattern during MV is, at least in part, of methodological origin. However, the results also showed the lack of a consistent pattern of RSA within the respiratory cycle, independently of the method used for the analysis.
