Cartographie desechelles d'une image satellitaire

In this article, a method for the estimation of a characteristic scale at each pixel of an image is proposed. The definition of characteristic scale relies on the topographic map of the image, made of the set of its level lines. The scale of a pixel is defined through the most contrasted shape (connected component of a level line) containing it. The resulting scale map is spatially very accurate. This fact is illustrated on several satellite images.
