Orbital ordering in YTiO3:Ti NMR in a single crystal

47,49Ti NMR measurements on a single crystal of a ferromagnetic Mott–Hubbard insulator, YTiO3, have been made to study orbital ordering. In particular we have measured frequency-swept NMR spectra in the ferromagnetic state under an external field of 3T. We analyze the NMR spectra and show that an orbital ordering model in Hartree–Fock and band calculations might be not suitable.
