MANAGEMENT OF KNOWLEDGE LOSS RISK IN NUCLEAR INDUSTRY AND RESEARCH

Institutional knowledge is defined as a collective knowledge of all employees in an organization or institution. The knowledge loss risk assessment is a process used to determine the potential business impact of the loss of critical knowledge from an organization. Generally a three step procedure is needed for the evaluation process: -conduct of knowledge loss risk assessment -determination of the approach needed to capture critical knowledge -monitoring and evaluation Our paper is intended to present the methodology needed for management of knowledge loss risks in nuclear industry and research, taking into account the specificity of the Romanian market. The application of the proposed methods is performed for INR (R&D institute), but may be easily extended to other nuclear organizations and institutes.
