摘要
Patient age is considered an independent predictor of outcome following traumatic coma, appearing a higher rates of mortality and morbidity with increased age. Nevertheless a change in outcome has been observed in older patients during last years. In our Neurosurgical intensive Care Unit (ICU) we have analyze the relationship between age and outcome in severe head injury. In our study neither increase mortality nor decrease good recovery are observed in older patients. So, increased age do not seem to be a risk factor in brain damage.
