Conclusions Site directed mutagenesis of rDer p 2 identified surface exposed amino acid residues, which participate in both IgE and mAb binding epitopes. Other surface exposed amino acid residues of Der p 2 seem to be located in areas not involved in the binding of the investigated antibodies.
