Effect Of Diabetic Education On Metabolic Improvement In Tibetan Diabetic Patients

Objective:To investigate the effect of diabetic education on metabolic improvement in Tibetan diabetic patients.Methods:Diabetic patients were screened in Niang-Re community of Lhasa city.Body mass index(BMI),serum lipid,glycosylated hemoglobin were measured.Intervention on drug therapy and life-style education were carried out in all patients.Patients were divided into education group and control group.Face-to-face follow-up was done in education group.Metabolic parameters were measured half year after intervention.Results:Totally 113 patients were enrolled in this study.Metabolic parameters in education group(56 subjects) were all better(P<0.05) than those in control group(57 subjects).Within education group,metabolic parameters were all improved after intervention.But no improvement was found within control group.Conclusion:Face-to-face follow-up on Tibetan diabetic patients is highly effective.
