Applications and interface for e-government

For over 15 years Fabasoft has been a European leader in standard software for Document Management Systems and Workflow Management, in particular electronic filing and archiving. This paper shows the efforts in eGovernment from the software producer's view. Making e-Government standard software includes the task to find the best solution to international and national requirements on functionality, standards and guidelines. e-Government forms an essential part towards modern administrations as it embraces the optimization of intra-authority processes, of the interfaces between the authority entities, citizens and companies, and of inter-authority processes thus leading to the realization of the information society. The tasks complexity results from the authorities' different ways of accomplishing their tasks, from their communication partners like citizens, companies and other authorities and from complex social and legal frameworks.
